Functional Lab Tests Available

Hippocrates famously said, “All disease begins in the gut.” Modern science has borne that out and we now know that supporting gut health has a positive cascading effect throughout the body – on the immune system, nervous system, skin, heart, bones, brain, and more.

Testing your gut health via functional lab testing provides actionable data for anyone experiencing:

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Thyroid disorders

  • Weight gain

  • Osteopenia/Osteoporosis

  • IBS/IBD/Crohn’s/colitis

  • Chronic loose stools/constipation

  • Fat, grain, or food intolerance

  • Chronic abdominal discomfort

  • Depression/anxiety

  • Bloating/excessive gas

  • Indigestion/heartburn/GERD

  • Chronic skin conditions

  • Poor sleep

  • Food cravings

  • Inflammatory conditions

The GI Map can reveal whether you have chronic gut infections, parasites, or an imbalance in gut bacteria (dysbiosis) as well as intestinal permeability (AKA “leaky gut”). The MRT test identifies foods causing inflammatory reactions in your body and, thus, problems elsewhere. By addressing the underlying gut problems, my goal is to enable you eventually to eat these foods without causing symptoms or chronic inflammation.

While I’m studying with Restorative Wellness Solutions, I’m offering a deeply discounted nutritional therapy package that includes two GI Map tests (before and after completing any needed protocols), one MRT food sensitivity test, six sessions of labs review/nutritional therapy/coaching support, and unlimited email support in between sessions. I will work with an experienced mentor to analyze your labs in the context of your health history, symptoms and goals.

The discounted price for my intro functional labs package is $1699, the vast majority of which covers the actual test fees. Packages of this type typically cost upwards of $3000, with the cost of the labs alone running about $1500!

Please note -- the cost of supplements you might need is not included in my intro package price. Although everyone’s costs will vary, please budget $600 - $1000 to cover supplements, if needed, to eradicate hidden infections or pathogens discovered through the GI Map.

My intro functional labs package is only available for the first two (2) clients to contact me and the deadline to take advantage of the offer is September 30, 2023.

Although I would love to help everyone, nutritional therapy is not right for the person who wants a quick fix. It is for the person who is tired of being sick and tired and is willing and motivated to clean up their diet (including by removing foods that they’re sensitive to for a few months), willing to make lifestyle changes, and able to follow a temporary gut support protocol to address the gut issues likely impacting them in ways well beyond the digestive system.

More details about this limited time, intro package can be found below.

Functional Labs & Coaching Package

1. I’ll provide a GI-MAP stool test and MRT176 food sensitivity test kits and instructions on how to take them. You’ll also complete a comprehensive 320-question nutritional assessment, an intake questionnaire, and a 4-day Food & Mood Journal.

2. Next, we’ll have a 90-minute deep-dive meeting to discuss your symptoms, lab results, and health goals. We’ll also explore your relationship with food, including your diet history, current eating habits, and more.

3. Following a thorough analysis of your data, I will review your test results with you and present a personalized nutritional protocol with detailed nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. The protocol will address your bio-individual nutrition needs in a practical and sustainable manner. Depending on the results of testing and symptoms, you may also receive a personalized 12-week supplement protocol that addresses uncovered gut imbalances. The supplement protocol will focus on using herbs, targeted nutrients, probiotics, and gut healing agents to support your unique needs. All items in the supplement protocol can be shipped directly to you, however, the costs of supplements are not included in the package price.

4. During your 12-week protocol, we will meet every third week for 30-minute calls to explore your success with the nutrition and supplements protocols and problem-solve any challenges in implementation. Recommendations will be fine-tuned as needed to keep you moving toward your goals. Between sessions, I am accessible via the Practice Better Client Portal and you’re welcome to send me any questions.

5. At the end of the 12-week protocol, you will take another GI-MAP test to gauge progress. At an hour-long final meeting, I will provide an assessment of the second GI-Map results. Together we will determine if additional nutritional therapy or other healing modality would be beneficial for continued symptom relief. If further support is not needed, I will provide a nutritional maintenance plan to keep you on track following your gut-healing protocol.

Here's what my client said after working with me while I was studying for my Nutritional Therapy certification:

I have had an amazing journey with Maureen. I started working with her in January 2023. I had been diagnosed with Type II diabetes a few months earlier and knew that I needed to make some significant changes to my diet and lifestyle. But how to begin and what program, if any, to follow – these were my first issues.

Maureen came along at just this time and I was eager to work with her.  Learning about what foods are beneficial, and not, and how the body reacts to sugars, fats, and carbs was eye-opening and essential to my commitment to make the necessary changes. In four months I reversed my diabetic diagnosis, reduced inflammation noticeably in arthritic joints, and lost weight. Along with those benefits came more energy and less fatigue.

Maureen tailors her program to your particular issues and health status. She has a wonderful sense of how to impart knowledge, encourage and problem-solve, and lead you to accountability to yourself.  She is kind, understanding, but most importantly, effective in leading you to better nutrition and health.
